Koa wood represents strength and courage, the word Koa means warrior. Secondly, is its distinctive interlocking grain pattern. And finally (and most importantly) is its origin. Genuine Koa wood always comes from Hawaii. Similar woods from the Acacia family found in different parts of the world are often missold as Koa but ultimately if it didn’t originate from Hawaii, it isn’t Koa.
